While it shows that the 2016 cohort did not perform as well in reading as in previous years -
Previously children were 'levelled' with a 4b being expected at key stage 2.
The curriculum has been made harder and levels removed so that children are either at an ' expected standard' or not. Therefore it is not reasonable to compare results in 2015-
The challenge now is to tackle the new standard effectively so that we make significant progress over the next three years -
