The school has received £17, 000 in PE funding for the academic year. This will be spent in the following ways:
To provide specialist support from Rossendale Leisure Trust, consisting of a lesson a week for every class under the supervision of an experienced coach. This also allows staff to be trained in various aspects of PE. Approximately £8000 (including lunch and after school clubs as detailed below)
To provide two after school sports clubs in football, athletics and other sporting activities which are free of charge to the children.
To provide a lunchtime sports club from Rossendale Leisure Trust to improve social skills and behaviour as well as teaching sports skills.
To provide outdoor storage for PE equipment.
To install basketball and netball/badminton equipment in the school playground to encourage participation in different sports at lunchtimes and playtimes.
To install two Anomaly ‘Active Walls’ to encourage reflexes, active exercise and hand-
